Best Western Hotels and Resorts was founded after the end of the Second World War, originally as network of hotel operators to the west side of the Mississippi River. By the mid-1960’s it had become the largest motel operator in the United States. Today, this hotel chain features 11 brands across five hotel categories: Collection, Boutique, Timeless, Value, and Extended Stay.
The Best Western Signature Collection is aimed for travelers. These hotels can be found in most corners of the globe, in major international cities. Each hotel features its own unique designs and craftmanship, including such modern amenities as on-site restaurants, licensed bars, 24-hour access to fitness centres, swimming pools, and complimentary Wi-Fi services.
Best Western’s Boutique category of hotels includes the Vib and Aiden chains. Vib hotels are best known for offering distinct, vibrant designs and features such as smart tv’s, rooftop bars, and premium cafes. They can be found in select cities across North America, Europe and Asia, like the Vib Best Western Sanam Pao, in Bangkok. The Aiden chain of hotels meanwhile, presents a more laid-back atmosphere and design, with smart tv’s and a social lobby and cocktail bar. Aiden hotels are found throughout North America and Europe, including Austin, Texas.
Within Best Western’s Timeless category is its Best Western Premier, Best Western Plus, Glo, and namesake Best Western brand. These four brands collectively account for the vast majority of the hotel chain’s locations. They are located primarily throughout the United States and Western Europe.
The Best Western chain of hotels is the company’s legacy brand. It is a contemporary hotel with standard accommodations and amenities including free Wi-Fi services, an in-room coffee and tea maker, shared access to computer and printing services, and complimentary breakfasts at most of its locations. Best Western Plus hotels will typically offer larger rooms with extra space for working, mini-refrigerators, and access to a fitness center. Best Western Premier hotels offer a more luxurious experience. This includes in many cases on-site dining and cocktail bar, business center, meeting rooms, fitness area, swimming pool, and upgraded linens. Glo hotel properties offer even more modern features that include smart tv’s and adaptable in-room technology, improved Wi-Fi speeds, state-of-the-art fitness centres, in-room workstations, on-site laundry services, and gel-topped signature mattresses.
Best Western’s Value line meanwhile offers more basic comforts. At SureStay Hotels, guests can expect free Wi-Fi services and a continental breakfast. SureStay Plus Hotels are more popular among business travelers and often include hot breakfast, a fitness center, swimming pool, and Wi-Fi services. SureStay Collection hotels usually offer the same amenities as SureStay Plus destinations, plus in most cases a full-service on-site restaurant.
Executive Residency by Best Western hotels are designed with longer term and extended stays in mind. They offer studios and bedroom suites that include kitchenettes with cooktops and sinks, microwaves and refrigerators. Free Wi-Fi is provided to all guests, along with dedicated common areas for work, relaxation, and outdoor activities.
